Invitation to Honor my Mother
It is very difficult for me to describe all the things that I have felt this entire year and what still remains for me to feel since she has left. It hasn't been easy to think of what she signified and signifies for me. There is not a day that I sit down and desire to cry for her, to think of her, to smell her pillow with her wonderful smell that only a mother can give...her kisses, to tell her "mommy I arrived" or family things that we only tell our mothers.
The house is empty without her. My heart is empty as well. And although our life will not be the same, I have determined to be an example of her, and I will surpass the pain to lead positive energy that she gave each day. Now I know that everything that she taught is growing in me and in my family. Now that my grandmother is by her side, I know that they are both happy together. I thank God and life for giving me incredible and irreplaceable people in my life. And although I know that life is short: I was able to enjoy her presence, her advice, and her immense affection. Thanks Mamita for taking care of me, and for giving me all your love, and support. You will never be forgotten, and you will always be in my heart.
